Self Hypnosis Script For Positive Affirmations and Achieving Goals

Positive affirmations are commonly used in hypnosis to help the subconscious mind take on a certain suggestion. The idea is that with constant repetition you will begin to believe that something is true. As the saying goes, “If you say something often enough it becomes true”.

Creating a good positive affirmation is simple. Think of something you wish was true about yourself and fashion a phrase or multiple phrases around it. For example, if you wish to become a more confident person you might use the positive affirmations below.

“I feel comfortable around other people.”
“My value is appreciated by everyone.”
“I am a calm, confident person.”

While positive affirmations can be effective repeated to yourself normally, I find that they work much better as suggestions during a hypnotic trance which is why I have created this script for use with affirmations and achieving goals.

The idea for this script was inspired by a recent article at HypnoBusters, How To Achieve Your Goals which you may want to read before learning this self hypnosis script.

Direction: Find a warm, comfortable place where you can relax and not be disturbed for around fifteen minutes. This script is to be read slowly and deliberately

Begin by trying to roll your eyes back up into forehead and keep them there. You will quickly begin to feel your eyes feeling heavy and tired. Hold your eyes in this position for as long as you can before they simply have to close.

Now, with your eyes closed, take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your nose. Notice how the air feels cold as it hits your nostrils on inhalation and warm as you exhale. Build a rhythm of slow, deep breathing.

Begin to visualize yourself in the third person, as if you are having an outer body experience. You look calm and perfectly relaxed. Your breathing is steady and your body is loose and limp. Focus entirely on yourself, in this visualization you are the only thing that matters. There is no background or any other objects to distract you. Just your own body in this peaceful state.

You start to feel yourself moving down. Visually it is hard to tell that you are moving down, but you get that unmistakable feeling that your body is sinking ever downwards towards something that you cannot yet see. As your body is taken down you begin to feel a warmth in your stomach. This warmth spreads all throughout your body.

It is now you realize that you are back in your own body, no longer looking on from afar. No sooner have you noticed that you are back inside your body but you also notice that the darkness around you has lifted and you are now laid back in a hammock that supports your body and sways gently in the warm breeze. As you look around you realize you are at a beach, but not just any beach. This is the most beautiful beach you could possibly imagine. The sea is a clear, crystal blue, the sand is a golden yellow and there is just a few white whispy clouds floating in the sky. The warmth of the sun radiates all over your body…you are the only person on your own personal dream beach.

As you bask in the beauty all around you, it is time to repeat your positive affirmations to yourself – whatever they be.

(Repeat your affirmations around twenty times. There is no need to count, just stop when you feel the time is right.)

I would now like you to spend some type thinking about what actions you are going to take to achieve your goal. Positive thinking is important, but without taking action thoughts are just thoughts. To breath life into them you must take action. So think about what you are actually going to do to make your affirmations come true.

(For the confidence example used above you could take acting classes, talk to people in situations that you normally wouldn’t or thrust yourself into positions where you have to speak in public.)

Now that you have set a goal and decided how you are going to achieve it, it is time to wake up. When you wake up you will remember everything you have thought during this session and feel motivated to turn these thoughts into action.

At the count of ten you will wake up fresh and alert and ready to achieve your goals.

Using NLP and Hypnosis To Stop Nail Biting

Happy new year to all readers of NLP Hypnosis Secrets. It’s been awhile since I last updated the blog but this is a new year and a chance to work myself back into a regular routine. During the last few months I’ve been working on building some promotional relationships with other websites and blogs within the topic of self improvement. Now onto the actual topic of discussion, nail biting and how you can cure your addiction using NLP.

Addiction may seem like a strong word for habitual nail biting but if you’ve every tried to stop it you will know how hard it can be. The reason for this is that nail biting is an obsessive-compulsive disorder so you can’t just make a conscious effort to stop and expect it to work. It’s like that itch that you need to scratch.

There are two kinds of nail biters. The first are those who bite their nails without the conscious thought to do so. They are usually focusing on another activity such as watching TV or working on the computer and bite their nails as if it’s a natural thing to do. The second kind specifically decide to bite on their nails and feel a strong desire to do so whenever they look at their nails.

The reason people bite their nails is that it satisfies a subconscious urge. This urge is often intensified by stress and anxiety. When they bite their nails they gain a certain feeling of relaxation and satisfaction.

That is why the first thing to do with a client with a nail biting habit is to help them to relax more, eliminating the (intensifying) need to bite their nails. This can be done with a simple hypnotic induction and deepener. Then you can use hypnotic suggestions that make the client realize nail biting is not good for them, making them associate nail biting with chipped teeth and gum infections. You could also teach them an anchoring technique to help them satisfy their urge to bite their nails. This could consist of anchoring the feeling of relaxation with touching their chin with their forefinger and thumb. This provides a similar action to nail biting without any of the potential damage or social uncouthness.

Nature Hypnotic Induction

This is an induction designed for therapeutic hypnosis sessions. It is a good idea to have a CD of nature sounds (birds chirping, running water, a gentle breeze, etc) playing softly in the background.

The Induction

Close your eyes and breathe deeply. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. As you feel the cool air flow through your nostrils begin to countdown on each inhalation, from ten down to one. And as you countdown from ten to one, feel your mind and your body becoming more and more relaxed.

2…Down into a deep relaxation.

Good. Allow your breathing to flow naturally now.

Take a moment to enjoy just how relaxed you feel. From the top of your head, all the way down to the tip of your toes. You feel deeply and completely relaxed.

As you enjoy your relaxation you may notice that you can hear the soft, gentle sounds of nature.

Allow these sounds to conjure up images in your mind. Images of nature all around you.

Picture the tall trees with birds perched up high, singing to each other.

Imagine the crisp sound and feel of the dried leaves beneath your feet.

Feel the warmth of the sun against your skin.

Visualize a small stream with a gentle current of water that washes away any anxiety or tension you may be feeling. Allow it to all wash away until all you can feel is a deep relaxation.

You are at one with nature, and nature is at one with you.

(Optional portion) And I would like you to know that this is a place in your mind that you can come to whenever you want. Whenever you want to feel completely relaxed simply close your eyes, breathe deeply and become one with nature once more.

Now you can move onto a deepener or begin the hypnotic suggestion portion of the session.

How To Get Someone To Agree With You

Here’s a simple NLP technique that you can use covertly to get someone to agree with you on a certain point. You can use this trick when negotiating a pay rise, selling a product in person or anytime you’re trying to work people over to your side of the fence. All it requires is using a technique known as anchoring.

Before you reach the moment/question/sales pitch where you want to get the other person to agree with you, you must first lay some groundwork. Ask your target a few yes or no questions. This isn’t a yes set where you want the person to only answer yes. You actually want a mixture of both yes and no answers.

Whenever they answer a question with a yes, flash them a sincere smile (this may take some practice in the mirror) and tie this in with a certain gesture. This can be any gesture you choose, but make sure it’s simple and subtle. For example when you smile you might touch your chin with your index finger. When they answer no stay pretty stony faced and tie this in with another separate gesture that can’t be mistook for the first, If you use the example I gave above for yes, then you could blink and leave your eyes closed for a second longer than you would normally.

Now that you have anchored a positive and negative reaction you have set up your target. This is when it’s time to strike. When you ask the BIG question wherever it’s “Will you give me a raise?” or “Would you like to meet up next Saturday?” you then use the gesture that you used whenever they answered yes. This will resonate in their subconscious mind, and without even consciously thinking about it, nine times out of ten they will agree.

It doesn’t really take much practice to do. You might want to practice your gestures in the mirror to make sure they look natural but that’s about it.

And that’s how to get someone to agree with you.
